first week of #SaferAtHome

Last Tuesday, our store closed at the end of the day, uncertain when we would be regularly open again, as our community tries to slow the rise in coronavirus cases in the metro-Milwaukee area. We are dedicated to our customers, and still wanted to be reachable, and to be sharing fun photo-content with everyone. To those ends, we publicized our store email address —, and spent the past week regularly updating our socmed feeds — Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.

We’ve also been sharing #MikesPhotoPrompts on those sites, giving our followers little photo-prompts as they self-isolate/quarantine. So far, those prompts have been “My Precious”, “Self-Portrait Film-Still”, “Hands”, and “CLOSER.”

We’re pretty proud of our YouTube contributions, giving people a “virtual visit” to our Used Department. And along those lines, we sent our sales-guy, Troy, out “in the wild” with some of our Used and Rental equipment, to see what he could come up with while the store was closed. Troy went out with an Used Olympus E M-10iii and Panasonic 20mm.1.7, Used Nikon D5300 and Sigma 30mm/1.4, and 55–200mm VR lens, and a Canon 5Diii and Tamron 150–600mm G2 lens from our Rental Department. He carried it all in a Manfrotto Photo backpack.

We’re gonna post up some galleries here for you to enjoy, featuring pics from each of those rigs. The links here will be updated, as the blogs come live!
