Hanging with the Canon AE-1
In the past year, we’ve seen a big rise in people trying out FILM PHOTOGRAPHY for the first time. And, as always, we want to be here to help! Our Used Department is full of cameras and lenses for people who want to try out analog photography. There are a variety of cameras to choose from, but one popular camera we’ve chosen to highlight is the Canon AE-1.
All the photos here were shot with an AE-1 and 50mm/1.8 from our Used Dept with Fuji film…
The Canon AE-1 was introduced in 1976, and manufactured until 1984! It can operate in a fully manual exposure method, or in a shutter-priority mode (where the user chooses the shutter speed, and the camera selects the aperture).
The AE-1 significant at its time because it was accompanied by a huge marketing campaign — and in time, it went on to sell over a million units!
No matter what your favorite subject is, the AE-1, partnered with the correct lens, can handle the situation. Most AE-1s sell with a 50mm lens, but we have other compatible lenses available, too!
To encourage people to pick up an AE-1, we’re running a “choose your discount” special — come to our Used Department and pick out an AE-1 or other Canon FD camera, then pull a ticket from the discount bucket, and see how much money you’ll save — you might get 5%, 10%, 15% off your AE-1 purchase! See the video here…
So, if you’ve been considering trying FILM PHOTOGRAPHY, now is the time! Come by the store, check out our AE-1 cameras (and other ones, too) and get a discount on the Canon FD camera of your choice!
Once you get that first roll of film exposed, be sure to bring it back to us for processing. And be sure to bring it to us on WEDNESDAY for special Film Wednesday pricing!!
