A few weeks ago, I got out with the Nikon D7200 and Tamron 150–600mm G2 lens, and explored the ice on Lake Michigan. I was out by Port Washington and there was much beauty to be seen! :)

The ice was wondrous and had taken many different forms. The geese were plentiful, and far out on the ice, I saw an immature bald eagle sitting on the ice, near open water! It was amazing!

The reach of the Tamron 150–600mm is impressive on its own, but then when I combined it with the crop-factor of the D7200, it was even more amazing! That 150–600mm lens turned it into a 225–900mm lens!

While it is a telephoto lens, meant for subjects that are far away, the close-up focus distance of 7.2 feet makes this lens very versatile! It’s pretty fun doing close-up photography with a super-telephoto. :)

Walking out on the ice was a bit scary, but it was incredible to be able to see all the way down to Milwaukee (20+ miles away)!

This lens normally sells for about $1400…and has an instant rebate of $200 until May 2, 2020.
