#SaferAtHome: Nikon D5300
This short post feature three items from our Used Department — a Nikon D5300, Sigma 30mm/1.4 crop-sensor lens, and a Nikkor 55–200mm VR lens. The D5300 is selling for $280, the 30mm for $250, and the 55–200mm for $60.
The D5300 is a nice, compact DSLR with an articulated LCD screen, and is really full-featured. The 30mm makes a cool fast-apertured “normal” lens, and the 55–200mm is a very compact “take everywhere” telephoto lens.
I had a few days to “test drive” this gear on some walks around Milwaukee and Port Washington. These first few images were with the 30mm…
I sure do love using a slow shutter-speed on photos of fast-moving streams and creeks! Here’s a few more pics from the 30mm — some positive messages on the sidewalks down on Milwaukee’s lakefront: “Distanced but not alone”, “We’re in this together, Milwaukee”, “Love 4 All”, “Spread Love”, and “Stay Positive”.
I had a LOT of fun with the 55–200mm lens — and at only $60, this is a STEAL for a VR (Vibration Reduction) lens!! It will work on most D3000-series and D5000-series cameras — if you’re interested in it, bring your camera in with you, so we can be sure of compatibility.
And finally, for comparison purposes, here’s a similar shot made with the 30mm lens at f13 (trying for a slow shutter speed, 1/40th) and the 55–200mm at 170mm and f5.6 (1/320th).
As ever, if you’re interested in any of these Used items, just give us a call at 262–782–4303, and we can set them aside for you!
