Used Leica R Lenses — 35mm and 90mm
We’ve recently gotten a couple special manual focus lenses in our Used Department! We’ve received two Leica R SLR lenses — a Elmarit-R 35mm/2.8 and a Summicron-R 90mm/2. The 35 Elmarit was produced from 1964 to 1996. The 90 Summicron was made from 1970–1977.
The 35mm is selling for $300, and the 90mm is selling for $575.
There is also a Fotodiox R-Sony E lens-adapter, so you could use these lenses on a Sony A9 or A7-series cameras, or Sony A6000-series cameras. The adapter is selling for $50. If you wanted to use these lenses on a different body, let us know, and we’ll see if we can get an appropriate adapter for you!
There IS something different about working with Leica lenses…I feel an obligation to try harder, to be >worthy< of the Leica legacy. If you’ve been wanting a moderate wide-angle lens, or a fast-aperture short portrait lens, you >really< need to consider these lenses and bring some len-zen to your photography!
Also, when you consider these lenses, take a look at the “Havana” bag from Vanguard. This bag sells for only $70, is good for a small DSLR or mirrorless camera with a lens or two and some small accessories. It’s a great “smush-able” bag, manages to include a space for a table/small computer, and comes with a weather-cover, too!
Here’s a few pics I made this past week, with this combo — a Sony A7ii, the Leica R 35/2.8 and 90/2, at Puerto Rican Fest, National Night Out in Kewaskum, clouds north of Milwaukee, Cece of Riverwest Radio, and some dried leaves in Lake Park (and if you aren’t regularly visiting our award-winning park system, you are >missing out<).
